Skoll World Forum | 2022

Our Co-founder and Chief Research Officer Anant Nyshadham participated in the Skoll World Forum 2022 organized by the Skoll Foundation from April 6 to 8, 2022.

This year’s forum focused on learning from the past and moving collectively towards progress. The discussion focused on the need to look at labor as more than just a cost center, understand their intersectional identities, acknowledge their basic needs, and empower them as key stakeholders contributing to the business. It explored the complex narrative of this inequality through the lens of wages and gender equity.

Drawing insights from GBL’s research, Anant underlined the impact of worker voice tools on attrition rate, worker satisfaction, and trust in management. He highlighted the need for worker voice tool designs that are more inclusive of the developing countries’ workforce and GBL’s project on worker voice tools in a low-income factory workers’ setting. The project showed that workers were 10% less likely to quit and saw 5% less absenteeism even with only a 4.9% utilization rate.
