gLOCAL Evaluation Week | 2022

GBL collaborated with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and Shahi Exports to organize a session at the gLOCAL Evaluation week 2022. Our Senior Design Associate, Sushmita Charlu, participated in the discussion focusing on how qualitative research can impact business outcomes.

The panel had participants from the GBL design team, UNFPA, and our industry partner Shahi Exports.

Sushmita talked about a unique return on investment tool (ROIT) developed by Good Business Lab in collaboration with UNFPA. This tool was developed using a systematic review of existing academic papers. These papers examined the effects of a workplace health intervention on business outcomes such as turnover, productivity, absenteeism etc.

Key Insights from the Session

  1. Businesses can be agents of change to ensure that their workers, and women in particular, have the means to realise their sexual and reproductive rights, by providing opportunities to overcome some of the barriers that workers face in accessing crucial health services in the public sector.
  2.  Improved workers’ health and wellbeing, particularly sexual and reproductive health, will ensure that employees can be healthier, more empowered and with better decision-making power in their personal and professional life.
  3.  Health interventions have the potential to improve business impacts like absenteeism, quality, attrition which can be tangibly calculated
